  • Raaj Shaandilyaa BREAKS SILENCE on Ekta Kapoor dispute; says Bhagam Bhag 2 is “on track”
    on 05-Mar-2026 at 5:06 pm

Filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa has issued a detailed statement responding to reports of a legal dispute with Balaji Telefilms, headed by Ekta Kapoor, which had reportedly impacted the shooting schedule of Bhagam Bhag 2.In his statement, Shaandilyaa said that he had, in accordance with his contractual rights, issued a notice terminating his arrangement with Balaji Telefilms. “It has now been over two weeks since the termination notice was issued. If Balaji Telefilms believed it had any sustainable legal basis to challenge the termination, it was open to them to approach the appropriate civil court. No such proceedings have been initiated,” he stated.Addressing reports of criminal allegations, the director described them as “exaggerated and baseless,” adding that they appeared to be attempts to intimidate after realising there was no viable legal ground to contest the termination. He maintained that he remains confident about his legal position and would respond to any allegations through the appropriate legal process.Importantly, Shaandilyaa clarified that Bhagam Bhag 2 remains on track. “It may also be clarified that the film Bhagam Bhag 2 is very much on track and the project will proceed as scheduled,” he said, countering speculation that the sequel had been shelved amid the dispute. The development comes after reports suggested that the sequel, starring Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, and Paresh Rawal, had paused its shoot due to legal complications.Shaandilyaa concluded his note by urging members of the film and creative industry to take note of the situation and draw their own conclusions when entering professional associations. The matter now appears headed toward further legal and professional deliberations, even as the future of the film remains under close watch. Also Read: Ekta Kapoor announces Hoonur, Balaji Telefilms’ dedicated talent management vertical

    on 05-Mar-2026 at 3:40 pm

Veteran filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya has addressed ongoing speculation about whether he and Salman Khan will team up again for a new film. In an exclusive interview with Filmfare, Barjatya acknowledged the long-standing creative bond between the two but made it clear that nothing is confirmed yet regarding another collaboration.Barjatya and Salman’s partnership is among the most memorable in Hindi cinema history, beginning with Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) and continuing with blockbusters such as Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Hum Saath-Saath Hain and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, films that helped define the family-drama genre over decades. When asked whether fans can expect them to reunite soon, the director remained measured, saying “Nothing as of now. We have to wait for the correct time.” He explained that while he has great respect for Salman and their past work together, any new project must be anchored in the right story and timing, rather than rushed for the sake of nostalgia. He explained that his early films were written with Salman in mind, a choice that shaped the emotional tone and cultural impact of those projects. On the professional front, Barjatya has recently released a new show, Sangamarmar, while Salman is busy preparing for his next film, Battle of Galwan. For fans hoping to see the duo team up again, Barjatya’s comments suggest patience may be required, the collaboration could happen, but only when the story and timing are right. Also Read: EXCLUSIVE: Salman Khan to play a retiring superhero in Raj & DK’s next; November 2026 start likely

  • Collin D’Cunha roped in to direct Aditya Roy Kapur starrer produced by Dharma Productions: Report
    on 05-Mar-2026 at 2:58 pm

In a fresh update on Karan Johar’s upcoming horror venture with Aditya Roy Kapur, filmmaker Collin D’Cunha has reportedly been approached to direct the project. According to a recent report by Variety India, the film is shaping up to be an unconventional genre blend — a slasher comedy that mixes satire, witty dialogue, gore and exaggerated performances. The development adds a new layer of intrigue to the project, which was first reported by Bollywood Hungama in January. At the time, it was revealed that Aditya Roy Kapur had signed on to headline a horror thriller backed by Karan Johar’s banner, Dharma Productions. Now, with Collin D’Cunha — known for his work on Call Me Bae and Do You Wanna Partner — being considered for the director’s chair, the film is expected to lean heavily into a playful and self-aware tone while retaining elements of horror. Sources suggest the film’s style and storytelling approach could be reminiscent of the cult parody franchise Scary Movie, combining genre tropes with humour and over-the-top moments. When the project was first reported earlier this year, a source shared details about how the collaboration came together. “Karan Johar has locked a horror thriller for his banner, Dharma Productions and has roped in Aditya Roy Kapur to play the lead character. Adi read the script and didn’t take long to come on board. It’s a unique project, and everyone at Dharma is bullish about the theatrical prospects of the genre,” the source told Bollywood Hungama. The film is currently in the early stages of development, with pre-production work already underway at Dharma Productions. Another key element of the project — the female lead — is also reportedly being finalised. According to earlier information, the makers are in advanced discussions with a top-tier actress to star opposite Aditya Roy Kapur.Sharing further details about the timeline, the source had also revealed that the team is planning to begin filming later this year. “The prep work has already begun at Dharma, but the director’s name has been kept under wraps for now”, the source had added. With Collin D’Cunha now likely to helm the film and the project reportedly leaning into the slasher-comedy genre, the collaboration between Aditya Roy Kapur and Dharma Productions appears to be shaping up as an unusual addition to the studio’s slate. The film is currently expected to go on floors in May 2026.Also Read: Pragya Kapoor on 10 years of Fitoor: “This script is a masterclass in script writing”
