Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has launched the Honda City 2020 in India. The starting price of the new Honda City is Rs 10.89 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.64 lakh. These are the ex-showroom prices of the car in Delhi. The fifth-generation 2020 City sedan comes in three variants, V, VX, and ZX. The new Honda City petrol and diesel engine will be available in both options. The company will currently sell both the fifth-generation Honda City and earlier models.

The 2020 Honda City has undergone several design changes compared to the previous model. It is the longest (4,549mm) and widest (1,748mm) in its segment. It is rated ASEAN NCAP 5 Star. Talking about other features, the new Honda City sedan has features such as electric sunroof, full LED headlamps, LED taillights, 17.7 cm HD full-color TFT meter, lane watch camera, and vehicle stability assist. The company started its pre-booking in the last week of June. Apart from the dealership, online booking can be done using the company’s Honda From Home platform.

In the Indian market, this midsize sedan will compete with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, and Toyota Yaris.

The petrol variant of the Honda City will be powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC engine and will be available in both a 6-speed manual gearbox and CVT option. The engine generates 121PS of power at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 145Nm at 4,300 rpm. The manual variant of the new Honda City with petrol engine will give a mileage of 17.8 kilometers per liter. The company claims that the CVT variant will give a mileage of 18.4 kmpl.

The diesel variant of Honda City 2020 will give a mileage of 24.1kmpl
At the same time, the diesel variant of the City sedan will be powered by a 1.5L i-DTEC engine and will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. At 3,600 rpm, the engine generates the power of 100 PS and peak torque of 200 Nm at 1,750 rpm. The company claims that the diesel variant gives a mileage of 24.1 kmpl. Honda says that this sedan is the first connected car in India with Alexa remote connectivity features. The car has a Next Generation Honda Connect with Telematics Control Unit (TCU).
